Do you dream of discovering the breathtaking landscapes of Canada, from the majestic Rocky Mountains to the charming streets of Quebec City? If you are in Dubai and planning a trip to Canada, you should know about the processing time for a visit visa. Let’s dive into the details and make sure you’re well-prepared for your Canadian adventure!

  1. Do You Need a Visa?

First things first: Do you need a visa to visit Canada? If you are visiting Canada for six months or less as a UAE resident, the electronic travel authorization is available. A visa will however be required, if you are staying for more than six months or from one of the countries which require that you apply for a visa. Apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)1

  1. Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)

If you require a TRV, here’s what you need to know about the processing time:

Standard Processing Time: It usually takes between 14 to 30 days to process a Canada visit visa from Dubai. However, this is subject to change based on the number of applications being processed, your situation, and if additional documents are requested2.

Factors Affecting Processing Time: Several factors may affect your processing time, such as the volume of applications being processed at the time, the completeness and accuracy of your application, and whether you need to provide additional documentation.

Application Submission: Submit your completed application, along with all required documents, to the nearest Canadian visa office or online through the IRCC website. Double-check that you’ve included everything to avoid delays3.

  1. Biometrics

Biometrics have been introduced for most visa applicants in Canada including fingerprints and a photo. When you need to provide biometrics, you’ll be instructed as soon as your visa application has been submitted3. You should visit a visa application center so that your biometrics can be taken. Normally, the biometrics fee will be around CAD 853.

  1. Medical Exam

You might also be required to undergo a medical exam in certain cases, for example, if you are planning to stay in Canada for more than six months or for employment in certain professions. You will be instructed whether this is a requirement3.

  1. Interview

In most cases, an interview is not mandatory; however, you might be called into the visa office for questioning about your travel itinerary and any connections you have in your home country3.

  1. Decision

Once your application is processed, you will be given a decision. If your application is approved, you will receive an electronically linked visa in your passport3. If it is rejected, you will receive an explanation. Do not lose hope. You can reapply if the circumstances change or you can provide more information3.

  1. Landing in Canada

Finally, the day arrives! Upon arrival in Canada, you will go through customs and immigration. Ensure you have your passport, visa, and any other supporting documents with you3. The border officer may ask you a few questions to confirm your plans.

That’s the lowdown on the processing time for a Canada visit visa from Dubai! It might seem like a lot, but with a bit of preparation, you’ll be well on your way to enjoying everything Canada has to offer. Safe travels, and don’t forget to send a postcard!????✨
