Navigating the Canada Visit Visa Fee from Dubai

Do you dream of visiting the beautiful landscapes of Canada, from the mighty Rocky Mountains to the quaint streets of Quebec City? If you are in Dubai and planning a trip to Canada, you need to know about the visa fees. Let’s get into the details and ensure you are prepared for your Canadian adventure!

  1. Do You Need a Visa?

First things first: Do you need a visa to visit Canada? For most UAE residents, the answer is yes. You will have to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), commonly referred to as a visitor visa, in order to enter Canada.

  1. Types of Visitor Visas

Before you get into the application process, you should know that there are two types of TRVs:

Single Entry Visa: Allows you to enter Canada only once during the validity of the visa.

Multiple Entry Visa: You are allowed to come and go as many times as you wish to Canada provided that your visa is still valid. Most applicants automatically get considered for a multiple entry visa unless otherwise stated.

  1. Start Application

To start the journey, one would need to provide the necessary documents and go through the application procedure. Here’s how you may get started on your way with these steps:

1: Gather the Necessary Documents

Fill out the IMM 5257 form, that is, the Application for Visitor Visa. Find the form online on the website of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Passport: Ensure your passport is valid and should have at least one blank page. In addition, you would need to produce a photocopy of the bio-data page of the passport.
Photographs: You would be required to have two recent passport-sized photos with the specifications indicated by IRCC.
Proof of Funds: Evidence that you are able to finance your stay with sufficient money will be needed, which could either be bank statements, pay slips, or letter from your employer.

Travel Itinerary: Outline your travel plans, including flight bookings if available and accommodation arrangements.

Reason for Visiting Canada: Explain the reason for your visit to Canada. Is it for tourism or visiting family and friends, or for attending a conference?

Ties to the UAE: Provide evidence of having strong ties to the UAE and an intent to return upon completion of your visit. This can include but not limited to an employer letter stating, property ownership documents, or family commitments.

Step 2: Application Submission

One can submit their application online from the IRCC website or submit in person through the nearest VAC. With regard to an online application, one is supposed to create a personal account at the IRCC portal, upload documents, and pay the fee.

Step 3: Fee Payment

The application fee for a TRV is approximately CAD 100. You may pay the application fee online, through the IRCC portal or at the VAC, in case you’re applying in person. You’ll need to hold onto your receipt as proof of payment.

  1. Biometrics

Biometrics, including a photo and fingerprints, are mandatory for most applicants for visas. Here’s what you have to do:

Biometrics Appointment: Once you submit your application and pay the fee, you will receive a Biometrics Instruction Letter. The letter will tell you how to book an appointment at a designated Biometrics Collection Service Point.

Fee: The biometrics fee is usually around CAD 85. This fee is in addition to the visa application fee.

In some cases, you may also be required to undergo a medical exam, especially if you intend to stay in Canada for more than six months or work in certain occupations. If this applies to you, IRCC will provide instructions on how to proceed.

  1. Processing Time

The processing time of a Canada visit visa from Dubai depends, but it generally takes about 14 to 30 days. One should apply much before the date he or she is planning to travel as there may be some delays.

  1. Decision

Once your application is processed, you’ll have a decision made for you. If your visa is approved, then your passport will be stamped with the visa. If it’s denied, you’ll receive an explanation. Don’t lose heart – you can always reapply if circumstances change or you can provide additional information.

  1. Preparing for Your Trip

With your visa in hand, it’s time to prepare for your journey to Canada:

Travel Insurance: It is highly advised to have travel insurance in case you encounter any medical-related or travel-related issues.

Customs and Immigration: Once you land on Canadian soil, you will clear customs and immigration. Be prepared with your passport, your visa, and other supporting documents. Be prepared for some questions that the border officer may ask, mainly verification of your travel plans.

  1. Have Your Canadian Adventure

Now that you’ve navigated the visa process, it’s time to enjoy your Canadian adventure. From the bustling cities to the serene natural landscapes, Canada offers something for everyone. Don’t forget to try some poutine, visit a hockey game, and take plenty of photos to capture your memories.

Application for a Canada visit visa from Dubai can be a bit overwhelming, but not to worry; once you prepare and arm yourself with the right information, it will be a sail through. Happy travels, and have fun on your sojourn in Canada! ????✈️????
